Should Cottage Grove have a Public Library?

What do you think? What are some advantages of opening a public library within the Village? What concerns do you have? Please share your ideas, and suggestions.

  1. Yes! Cottage Grove should have a library. The economy is against us at this point in time; however Cottage Grove has the third highest median income in Dane County. It is the largest village without a library of its own. We need to have a community meeting place (a library and all that it offers to the citizens) in order to step out of the bed-room community atmosphere. I want that for my community and I hope you do as well.

  2. Absolutely. Libraries connect the ENTIRE community to the world. All Cottage Grove residents - even those without the ability to drive to Madison, Monona, McFarland or Sun Prairie - should have access to the books, programs, computers and DVDs found in libraries. I love books and want a place I can check them out 6 or 7 days a week - not just Wednesday evenings.
